Our Mission

It has become my mission with a calling from GOD to give back to my native country by starting a school where there was not one. Our goal is to help the children culturally and educationally by teaching them how to be resourceful. Children are the future, and we want to provide them with tools that they in turn can pass on to their families in the future. Through education, our students will grow into incredible young men and women and productive members of the society. We hope to build a strong foundation for them to show that despite their circumstances, the sky isn’t the only limit. There’s the moon, the sun, the stars and everything else beyond.

My name is Edzer Dorvil, founder of Good Samaritan School in Haiti. My life changed on June 23, 2017, when God came to me in a dream that was so vivid that I remember the exact date it happened. God called me to start a school in Haiti, my native country. I have been a Certified Nurse Assistant for 30 years. I have no experience as a builder but drew up the plans for my school, on my own, that same night. I knew from his vision that God would provide what I needed to make his mission possible. I started this project with my own money. My school opened in September 2020. It took me 3 years to build because I kept running out of funds.

We at Ecole Bon Samaritain de Leogane (Good Samaritan School) are raising money for the community of Leogane, Haiti and for the school. This community has been in desperate need of help when it comes to stability and accessing resources to further education and quality of life. Since the earthquake in 2010, most people haven’t found their footing in life. While we have everything easily accessible, some people are still struggling in finding at least a meal for the day or clean water.

Your donations will help in providing food, toiletries, and supplies for the students. Funds will also be used to keep the school open and running efficiently. We want to help educate and support the students with a much-needed education and life skills and provide needed jobs for the staff and teachers so one day they all can have a better life.

Currently less than 1% of the money we need to support our school comes from donations.  I am registered as a 501C3 non-profit. All the funds go to the school for feeding the students and staff, paying the teachers, purchasing the books and materials needed to run a school. I take nothing for myself.

Thank you for all your support.
